Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) Certification

Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) Certification is a voluntary collaborative program across public and private sectors that is designed to protect the international trade industry from potential terrorist threats, while also promoting the economic well-being of the U.S. and its neighboring countries. CTPAT members are considered low-risk and experience reduced scrutiny at U.S. ports of entry thanks to the certification’s core criteria:

  • CTPAT members agree to cooperate with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to secure the supply chain, identify security vulnerabilities, and implement specific security measures and best practices.
  • Applicants are required to address various security topics and provide security profiles outlining action plans to bolster security throughout the supply chain.
